Big Beer Weekending

I had a brilliant session last night at Nakameguro Taproom’s Big Beer Weekend event. With an array of excellent beers on tap and tasty morsels from the kitchen, I recommend you make it a point to get out there before today’s end! This afternoon, I’ll be battling beer zombies and bartering magic tricks for drink tickets at the 9th Tokyo Real Ale Festival; and provided I survive, will more than likely make a return tonight.

But to which one? Nakameguro…or Bashamichi? The choices, man – the choices!

Nakameguro Taproom: Dear Beer

My wife and I stopped by Nakameguro Taproom this afternoon to see their Dear Beer exhibition featuring photography by Hiroaki Koshiba. It runs until the 26th of December, so check it out while you can – truly beautiful images.

We enjoyed a plate of roasted mushrooms and beer wings (sorry, we devoured everything before remembering to take any pictures), and I indulged in a pint each of GIN’s #76 Pale Ale (refreshingly hoppy and light) and Yabai-Yabai Strong Scotch Ale (my personal favourite). A happy boy was I, because I missed out at last week’s Homebrew & BBQ Celebration.

And now it’s time for dinner; I’m cooking up Pesto Linguini (fresh basil from SYOKU-YABO) and chicken salad while enjoying a bottle of Schmitges Graushchiefer Riesling (2009). Life is good.
